I Transmigrate Right After a Breakup, So I'll Become an Unrivaled Empress

On the day she was dumped, she transmigrated into the body of a condemned prisoner awaiting execution. She opened her eyes on the execution ground, with a blade at her neck. Shen Lingxiao, a law PhD, did one thing: she recited the death-penalty review clause of the Great Liang Code on the spot, questioned the county magistrate until he lost his nerve, floored two constables with shoulder throws, snatched the commander's flag, and shouted, "I demand a retrial!"

The whole city thought she was crazy. Three days later, she overturned her conviction. Three months later, she opened the capital's first inspection firm and face-slapped the three biggest trading houses one by one. Six months later, she transported army provisions through Black Mountain Gorge, where her three hundred soldiers sent three thousand horse bandits running for their lives. Salt merchants monopolizing the trade? Break their grip. Powerful clans swallowing up farmland? Take it back. Corrupt officials selling posts? Return the money and avoid punishment, or have your homes confiscated. When the Crown Prince staged a coup, she set up three hundred pots of porridge outside the palace gates and sent half of the three thousand Eastern Palace Guards running after they drank it.

In the end, the entire court knelt and begged her to ascend the throne. She laid down three conditions: open the civil service exams to women, reform the laws, and establish no imperial harem. After ten years as emperor, she stepped down with the treasury grown from twenty million taels to two hundred million, and the number of female officials risen from zero to thirty thousand.

"I will not marry. My laws matter more than marriage."
