Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio 2026: The Midnight Balancer

In the Bingwu year of 2026, demons and monsters take shape from warehouse-hoarding greed, appearance anxiety, obsession with unfinished projects, and algorithmic traps. Shen Yan, a former head of risk modeling who now drives for a ride-hailing service at midnight, carries a copy of The Bingwu Ledger of a Hundred Ghosts. Using old folk objects as his bait and actuarial rules as his blade, he settles the obsession debts that the living cannot repay in the steel jungle.
