When He Came to Find Me

A middle school reunion becomes Jiang Yue's only chance to escape after two years trapped in darkness.

A car accident took her parents and left her blind. Her uncle's family pretends to care for her, but in truth they seize her home and compensation money, forcing her to hand over jewelry designs every month in exchange for a place to stay. They cut off all contact between her and the outside world, leaving her like a bird in a cage. Only at this reunion does she get a chance to call for help.

By chance, she strikes a deal with Huo Biao, the troublemaking demon everyone in their class avoided back then. To outsiders, Huo Biao is an idle, roguish no-goodnik. Jiang Yue takes him for an ordinary auto mechanic, mistakenly assumes he is a womanizer with a reckless attitude toward relationships, and keeps him at arm's length.

With their deal as her opening, Jiang Yue carefully plots each step. She successfully withdraws the money her father had set aside for her, goes to the hospital for a new eye examination, and seizes the hope of regaining her sight. She drives them out of the home that should have been hers. Once free, she rediscovers her gift for jewelry design, slowly builds her career, and gradually sets her shattered life back on track.

This arrangement, which began as a means of saving herself, has clear boundaries and an endpoint. Jiang Yue only wants to reclaim everything and get proper treatment. She never imagined becoming entangled with Huo Biao in any other way. But as they work side by side day after day, her defenses slowly soften, and the tenderness and sincerity hidden beneath his roguish exterior begin to show.

Once every problem has been settled and their deal expires, the contract comes to an end. With the restraints gone, where will the feelings that blossomed in the darkness lead?
