Prisoner of Eternal Nightmare

My name is Su Xing. By the time you read this, I’ll probably be asleep.

In Ark City, sleeping is dangerous.

The authorities call it "Sleep Failure Syndrome." Ordinary people call it "Dream Death." Those who fall asleep don’t always wake up. More people die in their dreams each year than are killed by mutant beasts. The dead have no wounds or illnesses, and their faces still wear a smile.

No one knows what they dreamed about.

I’m twenty-one years old, with a synchronization rate of zero. I’ve been eliminated from the Explorer Selection for the seventh time. My parents entered the Silent Death Zone seven years ago and never came back, leaving me only a stopped pocket watch.

That night, I fell asleep with the watch in my hand.

I dreamed of a library.
