I Cultivate the Dao of Moderation and Cautiously Ascend to Immortality

After transmigrating to the cultivation world, Li Ran awakens the Mediocrity Dao Fruit System. But the status displayed by the System makes his heart sink.

“Identity: Member of the Qingyang Li Clan. Spirit root: Mid-grade. Comprehension: Low-grade. Talent in the hundred arts of cultivation: Beginner. Evaluation: A mediocre scion of a prominent family.”

Mediocre? Doesn’t that mean he’s completely hopeless?

Fortunately, the Mediocrity Dao Fruit can adjust his talents according to his status and position.

When an immortal sect comes to recruit disciples from his clan, Li Ran spends half his fortune to take part and successfully becomes a reserve disciple. At last, the System changes.

“Beep. Host’s identity has changed from member of the Qingyang Li Clan to reserve disciple of an immortal sect. Adjusting Host’s talents:

Spirit root aptitude has been raised from mid-grade to high-grade. Comprehension has been raised from low-grade to mid-grade. Talent in the hundred arts of cultivation has risen from beginner to proficient.

Evaluation: A mediocre reserve disciple of an immortal sect.”

He’s still mediocre among the reserve disciples? Li Ran puts away any thoughts of showing off his talents. He’s only just become a reserve disciple. Who knows what talents outer disciples, inner disciples, or true disciples have?

What if a high-grade spirit root is actually weak?

Keep a low profile. No matter what, keep a low profile.

Until one day, a once-arrogant prodigy points at him and curses, “You’re nothing but a talentless mediocrity. How dare you show your face in front of me?”

Li Ran sighs softly and takes out his identity token. “Sorry, I just got promoted to true disciple. You’ll have to call me Senior now.”

So does mediocre mean mediocre compared with the best in the world?
