Honghuang: From the Start, I Owed Heaven Nine Hundred Trillion Merit Points

Gu Yuan transmigrated into the Primordial World and immediately did something big: he accidentally interrupted the Heavenly Dao's ascension and ended up saddled with an astronomical debt of nine hundred trillion merit points.

There was no negotiating. He was forced into the job, becoming the Heavenly Dao's exclusive wage slave.

Kill monsters to gain baleful energy. Protect life to earn merit.

And so, throughout the Primordial World's many great calamities, Gu Yuan could always be seen hard at work.

When primordial beasts roamed the land, he protected spiritual plants and redirected the Primordial World's earthfire. When the Dao-Devil War set the world ablaze, he protected a glimmer of hope amid the fighting. As the Wu and Yao races fell, the Investiture of the Gods was issued, and Tang Sanzang set out on his journey to the West... he worked through every cataclysmic disaster to pay off his debt.

Others sought opportunities by surviving tribulations. He farmed merit through them.

Carefully scraping together merit to cover his negative balance amid countless calamities, he also quietly nurtured life throughout the Primordial World.

The years passed, and calamities came and went.

As the Heavenly Dao's debt was gradually paid off, the legend of a merit-bearing cultivator quietly spread across the Primordial World.

Heavenly Dao: Get back to work and pay off your debt!

Gu Yuan: The one in debt is the one with the leverage. Careful, or I'll slack off and your debt will go straight into default!
