We Were Never Meant to Live in the Sunlight

The glory of Xi'ola was ultimately buried beneath the dust of war and Lio particles.

The world fell into chaos. The divide between nobles and commoners, and the resolve to uphold royal authority and order, proved powerless against Honarock's iron hooves.

Though born into humble circumstances, the young Yuan Ci'an possessed the purest kindness and courage in the world.

To protect Princess Cecilia, he rushed toward death without hesitation, leaving his life behind on the long, perilous road of exile.

But death was never the end.

With the power of its divine hall, Valhalla seized his soul and remade his body.

When he opened his eyes again, every memory of his past was gone. All that remained was an interwoven body and a rootless soul.

From then on, he was trapped in an eternal paradox:

Am I alive? Or am I merely a weapon of slaughter, forged by someone else's hand?

The king, lucid in his descent into the abyss, used evil to defend his country, yet could not prevent its fall or his own death;

The survivors abandoned their homes and traveled far to the ruined lands of Liuguang in search of a chance to live;

The people of Saluwan willingly became slaves, trading freedom for survival and trapping justice in an impossible dilemma.

There are no perfect choices in this world. Every glimmer of hope for survival bears the weight of sin and sacrifice.

At last, the game reached its end, and the player behind it revealed himself.

He inherited the authority of the abyss, was crowned ruler of Honarock, and took the name Elbida, becoming the hope the world feared;

She gave up her hereditary crown, put down roots in the shattered land, built a new republic, and guarded the last remaining flame of humanity.

Sunlight continued to fall upon a world left in ruins.

Yet we, struggling to survive in this troubled age, were never meant to live beneath that sunlight.
