Thirty Years of the Ling Family

Thirty Years of the Ling Family is a family saga spanning three generations.

From Ling Dongshan building Dongshan Group from nothing, to Ling Jianhua struggling to preserve the family business amid the tides of a changing era, and then Wu Xiao facing a crossroads in business and life, three generations of the Ling family spend a full thirty years writing a story of choices, consequences, and redemption.

This is not simply a business legend. It is about how a family rises and falls amid the currents of its time, how it holds on to its principles in the face of temptation, and how it gets back on its feet after a fall. None of the characters in this book are one-dimensional symbols of good or evil. Some lose their way chasing shortcuts, some remain true to themselves, some hold a light for others in the darkness, and some learn humility in the midst of success.

Over those thirty years, the waters of Jinjiang keep flowing, while the streets of Rongcheng are transformed beyond recognition. The Ling family goes through booms and busts, separation and reunion, loss and gain. Running through it all is a question of "warmth": when profit and conscience clash, how should a person choose? When everything has been reduced to nothing, what is truly worth protecting?

In the end, Wu Xiao uses a fountain pen and a stack of manuscript paper to write the Ling family's story. Not to boast, but to tell those who come after: fate may cast you into a certain place, but you alone decide where each step takes you.

This is a novel about family, the times, and human nature. It captures both splendor and desolation, and lays bare the most precious things in ordinary life: honesty, kindness, and the warmth deep in people's hearts.

Thirty Years of the Ling Family: Conflict will eventually fade, but warmth will never disappear.
