Records of the Return to Five-Origin Ying

Though I know in death all things are empty, I grieve that I cannot see the nine regions united.

This book is a story based on real historical events, with a touch of the uncanny, written by a twisted author. It tells a story about someone who is absolutely not twisted.

As I wrote, I sometimes wanted to emulate Gu Long, sometimes Jin Yong, then I threw in a bit of fantasy and wuxia. I gave it everything I had to keep it from becoming a hodgepodge, and to make it my own style.

I am a person who is both insecure and arrogant, timid and cowardly.

When I first began writing this, my first long wuxia novel, I wanted to escape reality by hiding in a fictional world.

But the farther I got, the more I slowly came to realize:

No matter how lively the world on the page may be, in the end it is only an illusion.

The real world, the real jianghu, is where I should be making my way.
