Between Her Silhouette and Me

I watched her from behind for three years, but never once saw her face clearly. On the steps by the school gate, around the corridor corners, beneath the streetlights after evening study. She always appeared at the edge of my vision, then vanished as soon as I focused on her. I couldn't tell whether it was the same person each time, or just my imagination. I gave her a name: Mengrou. On the first day of my freshman year, I saw her again. Just for an instant, on the steps by the school gate. My name is Chen Xun. I'm sixteen, my grades are mediocre, and I have a bunch of foul-mouthed buddies around me, along with a youth whose boundaries I can't quite define. I searched for three years. Maybe she was never there at all. Maybe the person I was searching for all along was myself. Youthful Campus / Ensemble Cast / Realistic / Slow Burn / First Person
