I Let Out a Cry, and the General Fell to His Knees

Jiang Su, a young Taoist nun from Qingwu Abbey, descends the mountain to earn merit and return for hot pot.

At the city gate, thugs block her way.

She cries out.

Then General Xiao Po of Dingbei throws down his saber in the middle of the street and drops to one knee.

Then hundreds of townspeople spontaneously form a human wall around her.

Then the whole capital erupts.

She thought she had come to experience a tribulation of love.

As it turns out, she's not a lovesick fool at all.

A prince breaks off his engagement to a chancellor's daughter for her, the greatest assassin in the martial world gives up killing to cook for her, and even a hostage prince from an enemy kingdom defects to become her retainer.

All she wants is to quietly earn merit and return to the mountain for hot pot.

But wherever she goes, people hold her in the palm of their hands.

In the end, the Heavenly Dao issues a decree: You have transcended your tribulation of love and may ascend to godhood.

She tilts her head and smiles. "Just a little longer. My new foolish guard still hasn't learned how to peel shrimp for me."
