That Year, the Evening Breeze Remembered Our Meeting

Cicadas sang through the plane trees at Jiangcheng No. 1 High School. The cool and aloof academic prodigy Lin Shui Ci let only Ning Yaoyao call him A Ci. A tilted umbrella, scratch paper covered in worked-out steps, a warm school uniform draped over her shoulders during evening study hall. At seventeen, their love was quiet and reserved, hidden in countless little acts of favoritism. The boy waited patiently for her to grow up, while the girl hurried toward him with all her might. The evening breeze swept through the years, preserving this encounter that began in midsummer.
