Selling popsicles and vegetables, buying tea leaves, and riding the wave of reform and opening up, he steadily builds his business into something bigger and stronger.

The first stirrings of romance, the care of an understanding older sister, and the ill-fated ties of his past life.

Everywhere he turns, he faces a test.

Reborn into a new life, his path diverges from its old course, and his days bring both joy and sorrow.

Years later, a life-or-death crisis hangs over him like a sword, and one careless misstep could doom him forever.
