She Didn't Look Back

Five years ago, Chen Li and Shen Nanzhi broke up after he failed to show up when his older sister ran away from home. Neither of them ever got over it. Five years later, they meet again at the launch of Chen Li’s new book. Their old feelings resurface, and he uses the rights deal as an excuse to get closer to her, but she meets him with cold suspicion. Hurt by the past, she refuses to believe he loves her. When Shen Nanzhi is caught in an online hate campaign over the screen adaptation of her work, Chen Li speaks up for her at all costs and even returns to her city to keep her quiet company. After reading her novel, he realizes that the “Mountain God” in the story is actually him. He lies awake all night, then turns the novel into a game and wins an award for it, expressing his devotion through his actions. Shen Nanzhi gradually softens, and learns that he missed their date because his sister had left home. When he learns that Shen Nanzhi’s father has died, Chen Li reaches out and stays by her side. At last, she lets down her guard. The misunderstandings and separation of the past five years have helped them both grow, and Shen Nanzhi finally accepts his love, late but unwavering. The two find their way back to each other.
