A Silver Lock Between Two Worlds: Little Nuobao Gets Rich Selling Wild Mountain Goods

Nuobao is only five and a half, thin as a bean sprout. Her stepmother makes her climb the mountain before dawn to gather wild produce, and beats and berates her whenever anything displeases her.

One day, she collapses on the mountain with a high fever, only to discover by chance that the silver lock left by her mother can connect her to a world a thousand years in the future!

A bag of matsutake mushrooms is worth just 10 coins in ancient times, but in the modern world it sells for 200 yuan!

Clutching two 100-yuan bills, Nuobao’s eyes go wide. “Can this red paper buy me lots and lots of steamed buns?”

A kind person teaches her how to spend money, and she learns. She hears that people in the modern world prize mountain delicacies, and she remembers.

With food and all sorts of supplies bought with her 200 yuan, Nuobao travels through the silver lock back to ancient times. When she wakes, she discovers that a hunter’s family has rescued her.

From then on, Nuobao carries a little basket on her back, gathering wild produce in the mountains in ancient times and taking it to modern markets to trade for cash, then buying supplies to carry back to the past.

The hunter’s family goes from never having enough to eat to having meat at every meal. The villagers go from laughing at her to working alongside her. Thanks to her little basket, the whole village turns its fortunes around!

Later, when her biological father and stepmother hear she has made it big, they come crawling back to claim her? Nuobao tucks the silver lock inside her collar and lifts her chin. “When you beat and scolded me, you didn’t say you were my parents!”

The hunter and his wife cherish her as their own daughter, the hunter’s children protect her, and everyone in the village treats her like a lucky star.

Nuobao holds modern business opportunities in her left hand and ancient resources in her right, striding forward on her little legs.

No one gets left behind on the road to prosperity!
