The Top-Tier Star Is Chaste in Public and Unhinged in Private

Gu Yihuai, the entertainment industry's top-tier star, has been in the business for eight years. People call him the industry's Tang Seng.

Female stars try to use him to get attention on the red carpet, but he walks around them. When reporters ask about his ideal type, he says, “None.” His interview answers are always no more than a few words. The whole internet is betting on when this man will finally break his vow.

Then, during auditions for a film, he meets Shen Zhiyi.

Shen Zhiyi is a pariah who has been blacklisted for a year.

A year ago, she refused to trade favors for roles and splashed a powerful platform executive in the face with wine. The entire industry blacklisted her.

She spent a year playing bit parts and living on boxed meals, until at last she got a chance to turn things around.

Using a video she had accidentally recorded to blackmail Gu Yihuai, she secured a fair audition. On the day of the audition, one sentence from her brought tears to his eyes, and she won the role of his character's beloved.

After joining the production, she kept to professional standards: talk about work, not personal feelings.

At the wrap party, she deleted all his contact information and moved on cleanly.

He cornered her outside the set, gritting his teeth. “Shen Zhiyi, I've been out of character for a long time.”

But he was lying.

He began losing sleep, getting distracted during dance practice, and spacing out in interviews. His fans uncovered it all.

When he saw her kiss another actor on screen and watched it trend, he flew back to the country in the middle of the night and knocked on her door. “I've run out of vinegar at home. Can I borrow some?”

The man who could only say “None” in interviews was so lovesick in private that the entire crew could see it.

And he was lovesick for the rest of his life, but only ever showed it to one person.
