At least, that's what Lei thought. “Build strength, preserve your looks, stay young forever, and ward off every illness! Choose Heavenly Gift for a body you'll love.” The New Columbia Federation advertised its cutting-edge technology, the Heavenly Gift vaccine, almost every day. With such perfect technology in hand, they didn't stop there. To show that their technology wasn't meant to intimidate anyone, they brought Heavenly Gift to the entire world. Nearly 70% of the global population could get the basic version, which warded off every illness, at a low price. And the first person bold enough to try it was Lei. David Delin, the founder of Heavenly Gift, gave him a shot under a bridge. The injection not only brought down his fever, it also gave him a body that couldn't be beaten up. But he didn't become famous for it. Even after getting the shot, he remained an ordinary, law-abiding working-class citizen in his West District. Now it was the second year since Heavenly Gift had become widely available around the world, and Lei still hadn't become anyone important. But everything changed after his nap today. He should have woken to the sound of people shouting during a street fight, but instead he woke in silence. Even the TV shows that never took a day off had lost their signal. It was as if the whole world had abandoned him. He went out to take a look, and the people on the street immediately attacked him in a frenzy! They were crazy! Like zombies! But the TV hadn't warned him, the streets hadn't warned him, and no one had come to warn him at all! Should Lei prepare to fight tooth and nail to survive?
