Twin Star System

[Light sci-fi campus mystery, no romance, an adventure with friends] Xiao Ke, a seventh-grade girl, has a secret: her friend Zhou You is being targeted by the “Twin Star System.” While delivering the class journal, she discovers a chat history between the school director and “the other side,” putting Zhou You in danger. So Xiao Ke, Zhou You, and Jiang Xiaohang form the “Golden Triangle” and launch a game of cat and mouse across campus. They gradually discover that the “Twin Star System” isn't a program, but two people: the brains, Zhou Jiayi, and the muscle, Chen Yihuan. Zhou Jiayi calculates and plans; Chen Yihuan carries out the forceful measures. The two work so well together they can communicate with a single glance. They control students, monitor the school, and can even command the entire student body over the PA system. But a secret is hidden in Zhou Jiayi's calculations: she isn't doing all this just to catch Zhou You. She keeps saying, “You can't change the ending,” yet writes in her diary, “I lost the present, but I won the future.” Which side is she really on? When all 3,384 students are connected by the program and their memories are about to disappear, Xiao Ke must choose between “sacrificing Zhou You” and “giving up on the whole school.” But she says, “Is it really a choice between one or the other? Between ‘left’ and ‘right,’ I'll choose ‘and.’” This is a story about school, friendship, memory, and resistance. It asks: if failure is destiny, is there still value in resisting?
