A Song of World-Weariness

[Ensemble cast + superpowers + alternate-world setting] Of course, a wondrous continent has wondrous powers. Naturally, different powers counter one another, but some stand above the rest. Those who possess such powers never use them recklessly. Of course, not everyone has these wondrous powers, and those who do may use them for all sorts of things. Yet while everyone else dreams of a bright future, there is a group of people who have grown weary of the world. They enjoy the conveniences these powers bring, but they also see the disasters they have wrought upon society. So they came up with a plan: gather these powers together and destroy the world along with them.
