Sinking Lamp

A century-old water ghost guards the empty house and watches the girl next door playing the piano through the wall every night; a little red carp demon that has lived for a thousand years breaks in and calls him "dead ghost" when he opens his mouth. She thought she was playful, but in fact she swallowed the river lantern he lit for a woman a thousand years ago - the woman's soul lingered in the lantern for hundreds of years, and she said to him, "May she live in peace for the rest of her life." He couldn't let go of that face on the wall, and she couldn't figure out who she was. The lamp dimmed and no one made it across.
