Office Building

A long realistic novel, the story takes place in the 1950s. Ordinary workers in steel mills and textile factories worked voluntarily to build an I-shaped red brick theater "I-shaped building" on the deserted beach of Weitang. The novel revolves around the fate of several generations of industrial workers. It spans seventy years and has gone through construction, prosperity, the pain of transformation, silence and repair and rebirth. Using architecture as a carrier, it depicts the life experiences and spiritual inheritance of Chinese industrial workers.
