There were thirteen seconds in Linlan City that no one remembered. Thirteen seconds ago, a rail train was falling. Thirteen seconds later, a child in a yellow raincoat stood in the rain, waiting for someone who was not on the rescue list to take them away. Shen Yan remembered that he stretched out his hand, but did not remember where the wound on his palm came from. In this city, a small number of people experience reality deviations known as "miracles" in their bodies. Some can bear the impact, some can cut off the sound, some can let the flame burn along the existing heat, and some can gradually disappear from the memory of others. Miracles are never generous: they take away touch, body heat, a name, or the memories a person least wants to lose. In order to maintain order, the Bureau of Ordinance hid miracle workers in accident reports; in order to leave the names of the missing, survivors hid their testimonies in papers, recordings, and old city lines.
