In Hokkaido in the 1990s, the long and cold winter was always covered with continuous falling snow. As childhood sweethearts, detective Gen Yamada and forensic doctor Aoi Kurosawa have a stable and ordinary daily life. They pray at shrines, cook oden on winter nights, and look up at the stars for a tender moment. Ordinary happiness seems to last indefinitely.
