The Sycamore Is Still Green

A letter from 1937 drags her into a love with a known ending. She traveled back to pre-war Nanjing and fell in love with a man she was destined to be unable to save. He is a young professor in the Department of Architecture at Jinling University, and he has devoted all his efforts to leaving drawings and memories of the city's ancient buildings that are about to disappear. On the eve of the city's fall, he put a jade button into her palm and said, "Look for me, in Nanjing many years from now, when spring comes, will the parasol trees still be green?" She returns to 2026 with his memory. Every spring after that, she stood in front of the window and said the same sentence for him—— "Green. Shen Yanzhi, the phoenix tree is still green."
