Fireworks for You

A sudden summer shower at the end of the season brings Lin Yan, an ordinary girl from an old alley, face-to-face with Shen Zhuo, a transfer student who has just moved into the neighborhood. They are about to enter the pressure-cooker of their final year of high school together, becoming desk mates seated side by side. Around them is a lively group of friends: Su Xiaoran, outgoing and always stirring things up; Xu Zhixia, tenderhearted; Wen Nan, calm and reserved; Lu Chi, passionate and loyal; Jiang Yu, steady and dependable; and Song Xinghe, always ready to joke around. Their families tie them down, too. Lin Yan has a mischievous, clingy little brother, Lin Yu, while Shen Zhuo is always accompanied by his sweet, well-behaved younger sister, Shen Nian. Ordinary neighborhood alleys, the everyday warmth of family life, mountains of review papers, and the shy, restrained stirrings of young love all weave together. There are no explosive dramatic twists. Instead, the story follows the rigors of exam preparation, the warmth of neighbors, the company of friends, the little details of family life, and two teenagers gradually drawing closer as their feelings cautiously take root. Amid the busy, oppressive days of their final year, they chase the future that awaits them after the college entrance exams while learning to accept the affection quietly growing in their hearts.
