Paper Demon

The rules of the demon world were simple: the more living beings you could scare, the higher your status. A paper demon was born at a disadvantage. He did everything he could to become a proper monster, venturing into the human world and trying to scare children into tears. But fire singed and curled his edges, while water left him on the verge of falling apart. Forget scaring people, he couldn't even frighten a cat away. A laughingstock among demons, he was stripped of his demon status and became the one and only useless demon in the history books. So what if he was useless? He'd been in the human world for a thousand years. Which child nowadays hadn't heard of the paper demon? When a demon hunter and a paper demon become, respectively, an antique-book restoration master and his apprentice in a modern city, how will they manage to coexist?
