Niu Dadan’s Ghost-Hunting Diary

Niu Dadan accidentally falls and hits the back of his head, awakening a half-baked Yin-Yang Eye that can only see blurry ghostly shadows.

His father loses a fortune in the stock market and sells off the hospital to pay his debts. Penniless, father and son flee back to the countryside to live with Niu Dadan's grandfather.

To protect himself, he becomes a disciple of the eccentric Daoist Master Lin. His master loves food and women, is stingy and lazy, and looks like a fraud. In truth, he is highly skilled and has plenty of connections in the Underworld.

The Daoist Master fully unlocks Niu Dadan's Yin-Yang Eye, turning shadowy figures into solid, lifelike forms. Niu Dadan nearly faints from fright. Prodded by his master's taunts, he grits his teeth and steps onto the path of Yin and Yang.

On his master's recommendation, Niu Dadan becomes a human-world underworld constable. He goes to the Underworld to carry out assignments and earn merit, which he can exchange for talismans, magical arts, money, and even extra years of life.
