University Dormitory 212

If youth had a house number, it would be 212. Twelve beds, twelve young people from different cities in the same province, met in university dormitory 212 because of an admission notice. From the initial testing of each other with luggage, to later crowded in a room to talk about ideals, love, and hometown, we spent the most precious few years of our youth to transform from stranger classmates into irreplaceable family members in each other's youth. There are the uneasiness of leaving home for the first time, secrets in late-night sleeping sessions, and quarrels due to hygiene duties, differences in work and rest, and differences in personality. Some people are busy taking exams, while some are immersed in love; some get up early every day to memorize vocabulary, and some rush into the classroom with the bell ringing; some seem heartless, but they will silently buy medicine when their roommates are sick; some say they will keep in touch after graduation, but cry the most when they turn around. 212 Witnesses our youth, confusion and transformation. Together we skipped classes, failed exams, watched dramas, ate instant noodles, and in the darkness after lights out, we seriously discussed where to go in the future. At that time, we thought that four years was a long time, long enough to squander; it was not until the graduation photos were taken and the dormitories were emptied little by little that we realized that youth never tells us goodbye in advance.
