In the late Ming Dynasty, Su Fuling, the daughter of a family of traditional Chinese medicine doctors, made a deal with a Western vampire to save her father. Her father died and she became a vampire. Four hundred years later, she opened a traditional Chinese medicine clinic called Fuling Tang in a small city in the south. She used traditional Chinese medicine methods to study her body, taking her pulse, pricking needles, and brewing medicine, trying to figure out what a vampire is. She feels that vampires are not a race, but a disease. Since it is a disease, it can be cured. The Clan did not allow her to study it. They sent an old vampire named Chu Wujiu to "persuade" her. He has lived for six hundred years, is older than her, and has long accepted that "this is fate." He said "Don't waste your efforts." She said, "Let's give it a try. I've lived for so long anyway, so I can't lose anything."
