Saving the Great Song, Starting with the Fall of Xiangyang

Political intrigue, historical military fiction, multiple heroines Xiangyang fell, and the Southern Song fell with it. A modern history PhD student transmigrates into the body of Zhao Shen, Emperor Duzong of Song, who has just died from a life of debauchery and been placed in his coffin. With a widowed mother and a young crown prince, it is the perfect time for the powerful minister Jia Sidao to wield unchecked power. His shout from inside the coffin, “I’m not dead yet!” lands like a thunderclap, disrupting the new emperor’s enthronement ceremony and Jia Sidao’s dream of ruling without opposition. The first thing to do after coming back to life is to give up women. Uh, that might not be possible. Then I’ll start by taking back power! I’ll take on Jia Sidao, behead Fan Wenhu, promote Wen Tianxiang, personally lead a campaign against Ezhou, build fortified strongholds everywhere, open up the militia, and wage war against Kublai Khan. I’ll crush the Mongols, conquer Goryeo, sweep across Japan, and expedition to Europe. I’ll fish in the Heavenly Lake on Changbai Mountain, watch the sunset atop Mount Fuji, compose poetry on the pyramids, and inspect my loyal European subjects outside Paris. I, Emperor Duzong of Song, am simply this powerful and bored.
