Kill the Maid

In the courtyard of the deep house, the maid Cuihong became a thorn in the mistress's side because she was pregnant with the master's child. Coincidentally, the young lady refused to marry an old wealthy businessman, and the mother and daughter conspired to set up a "substitute death" scheme: Cuihong was given poison, put into the young lady's shroud and stuffed into the coffin; the young lady pretended to be the deceased and was sent out of the house to hide overnight. Under the white curtain of the mourning hall, the emerald red orifices were bleeding to death, but no one dared to lift the white cloth to see. After the master discovered the truth, in order to save the family's face, he chose to keep the secret sealed: his wife was placed under house arrest and his daughter was exiled. He only gave Cuihong a coffin with the specifications of a mistress and the spiritual place of his "aunt". Many years later, two tombs stood side by side on the hillside. The names on the tombstones and the souls underground had long been misaligned. Only the wild peach blossoms that bloomed every year remembered the tragedy of being swallowed up by the deep house.
