He was a detective three times and was a master of crime-solving who was active in the Hanagawado area during the Edo period. He was famous for his "Haaer" (Shunfeng Ear). This series contains four short cases. For example, in "The Story of Tsuji Zhanya", when faced with a series of cases of female corpses in a well and beheadings in cassocks, he identified the suspect three times from the scene details and revealed the truth; in "Red Coral", he relied on his keen insight to find the real culprit in Ato's unjust case; "Female Star of the Ukiyo Theater" tells how he saw through the tricks of liars and left them nowhere to hide; in "The Maid of the Dragon God", he saw through the scam of the female thief pretending to be a ghost. These stories demonstrate the wisdom of three times, and also present the social features and appearances of all living beings in the Edo period.
