[The King's Avatar] Don't Hit the Cook While He's Serving

I'm Zhen Xinfei, a woman who has spent her life pursuing the niche. I'm part of an extraordinarily niche group of women: only about two hundred people in the country share my surname. I'm a goddess adored by everyone in a certain fanfiction circle, a top student at a well-known art academy in H City, and a little artist in the art community whom everyone begs to open a shop window. While all the otaku around me are focused on esports and anime, I did something incredibly mainstream. I'm a dream girl for the captain of a certain famous underdog team, and that's why I started following esports. I kept my dream-girl identity well hidden. Even when my friends said I was crazy for not supporting local team Excellent Era and instead rooting for Thunderclap, they never suspected I was a dream girl. That is, until I actually started dating my dream guy. My friends can curse me all they like; we're already together, so what can they do about it?! Thanks. Becoming the captain's girlfriend really is niche, and this niche girl can say her life has been worth it.

*The King's Avatar, first-person POV with an original female character. The male lead is Xiao Shiqin. From the winter of Season 7 through the World Invitational Tournament. Reader-insert is fine; proceed at your own risk. Probably my take on an especially assertive Xiao Shiqin winning over one of his own fans. This is a practice piece for writing a romance, so expect out-of-character moments and plot holes! Mostly everyday life and romance, with plenty of stereotypes about esports and anime. The heroine is set up as a hopeless romantic, so if that's not your thing, run.*
