Zhiheng in the Ruins

The world separates the real world and the mist. The Mist Ruins is a chaotic secret realm where all living beings' obsessions and dead souls linger. There is no day, night, or four seasons. Ruins grass grows everywhere and absorbs the emotions of living beings. It hides countless lost memories, broken obsessions, and dangerous Ruins beasts. There is an eternal rule in the Wu Ruins: Those who enter the Ruins must pay for their obsessions - if you spy on other people's obsessions, you must sacrifice your most cherished thoughts, no one is exception. A hundred years ago, the barrier of Mist Ruins was broken, and countless resentful spirits poured into the world, causing catastrophe. In the end, the first generation of spirit warriors sealed the rift with their own souls, leaving behind a legacy: in each generation, only those who are born to see the shadow of the mist can freely travel between the two realms, repair the rift in the mist, and maintain the balance between the two realms. But the soul-wavers bear the punishment of heaven: they must empathize with all things, but must not have their own preferences and obsessions. Once tempted, the soul will be gradually swallowed up by the mist, and eventually turn into mist grass, disappearing without a trace.
