The Palace of the Seven Emperors: Records of the Qingluan Regency

Li Qingluan, the princess of Xixia, entered Yan as a hostage at the age of eighteen. She was originally the humblest chess piece on the chessboard. However, the Yan royal family had an old system of "continuation of Luan marriage": when the emperor died without an heir, the widow could marry the successor prince to stabilize the ancestral temple. She embarked on a shocking journey - seven marriages to seven emperors, seven marriages, and seven swords. From the gloomy seventh prince Xuanli in the cold palace, to the bright and sunny sixth prince Xuan Jing; from the sickly and gentle fifth prince Xuan Yi, to the iron-blooded and heroic fourth prince Xuan Zheng; from the romantic and talented third prince Xuan Jin, to the deep and calculating second prince Xuan Mo, to the benevolent prince Xuan Lie. She sent away seven men and gave birth to seven sons, who transformed from protons into sword-holders in blood and fire. When the seven archways were erected from the imperial mausoleum to Yanjing, the last words of the seven emperors were engraved on the inscription, as well as her name: "Li Qingluan, the mother of the seven emperors of Yan, the regent empress dowager. Seven emperors connected with each other, and one Luan ruled the country." This is not a curse of Kefu, but a legend of the power of a woman who used seven marriages as a blade to split the peace of the prosperous age.
