Snow over the Capital, Gardenia in the South

Lu Yanning, the second daughter of the Lu family in Nancheng, had been secretly in love with Shi Ye, the heir of the Shi family in the capital, for five whole years. She grew up in Nancheng, while he lived in the capital. Everyone thought their paths would never cross. But Lu Yanning kept her feelings deeply hidden, loving him quietly for a very, very long time. Later, she decided to attend university in the capital, just to be closer to him. To her surprise, Shi Ye began appearing in her life again and again: buying her delicious food, standing up for her, and taking her to the doctor. Then, one day, as rain poured down, Shi Ye pulled her under his umbrella and asked, “Lu Yanning, shall we give us a try?” That was when the wheels of their fate began to turn. But later, Lu Yanning decided to leave for another country, and stayed away for many years. She thought their romance had never come to fruition. Unequal lovers could never make it to the end. Until, years later, they met again. Shi Ye cornered her against the door, his eyes red. “Lu Yanning, I was wrong. From now on, as long as you don’t leave, you can have anything you want.” Only later did she learn that the diary she had forgotten to take with her had fallen into his hands. She turned to the last page she had written: “Shi Ye, I’ve decided to let you go. Goodbye!” In the blank space on that page, Shi Ye had written a line in pen: “This time, let me be the one to love you.”
