A Delicate Beauty Is Hard to Tame

[Down-on-her-luck heiress vs. fierce, rugged older man; one-on-one romance; they save each other] Lu Jiao first sees Zheng Xuchen at sixteen and falls for him at a single glance. But when she learns that he has a fiancée and is about to get married, she quietly buries her feelings, believing they’ll never have anything to do with each other again. Three years later. Overnight, she loses everything and faces homelessness. The man who once warmed her youth returns to her world, alone. With a single “From now on, you’ll live with me,” he binds their lives together for good. On the way to his home, she cries, makes a fuss, and struggles. He grips her hand tightly. He doesn’t comfort or indulge her, only holds her back. He was a longtime friend of Lu Jiao’s father and considers himself her elder, so he makes her call him Uncle. Lu Jiao refuses. She’s determined to push his head down, straddle his waist, claim his body, and hear him whisper “baby” against her ear. Lu Jiao’s father once said that she listens to no one but Zheng Xuchen. But Zheng Xuchen thinks there’s a lethal poison hidden beneath her rebellious streak. He’s already given her everything he can, yet she still wants him, and makes him lose his heart. (It all began with the innocence of young love. No matter how much time passes or how much changes, the person you fell for at first sight will still make you fall all over again when you meet.)
