There Is Time for a Tree to Bloom

"A Tree Flowers in Time" is an autobiographical novel by the writer Wu Tong. It uses "Wu Tong" as a metaphor for life and describes the extreme ups and downs of ordinary people from drifting to rebirth. Abandoned at birth, like a sycamore seed turning without roots in the wind; living under the fence of others when you were young, hiding your true feelings with all your face; as an adult, you encounter unkind people, your youngest son becomes seriously ill, your loved ones pass away, you are burdened with debts and illnesses, and you feel like you have been pressed into the mud by fate and rubbed against it over and over again. The embarrassment of wandering, the crying in the middle of the night, and the loneliness of having no one to rely on all made her think that no more flowers would bloom in her life. But just like the phoenix tree that has fallen and still sprouts, she reconciled with loneliness in a desperate situation, used pen and ink as a boat to cross the world of mortals, and boiled half a lifetime of suffering into nourishment. Finally, pay off your debts, heal your heartache, and live your own life - it turns out that life is never an ivy, but the withering glory of the sycamore tree: the falling leaves are the suffering of the world, and the blooming flowers are self-salvation.
