Drowned in Love, Lost in Your Kiss

Everyone in the capital’s great families knows Sheng Jinbai is the prized catch everyone wants to marry into.

But he already has someone: he and the eldest daughter of the Chu family have been engaged since childhood, so he’s always been out of reach.

Chu Rou refuses to accept that her sister’s man is off-limits.

Scheming at every turn, she struggles to get what she wants. But after she uses him just twice, Sheng Jinbai sees right through her.

“Little liar, who are you trying to manipulate this time?”

Sheng Jinbai has known for ages that Chu Rou is trouble.

After all, how good could the daughter of a mistress be? And yet, whenever he sees the pleading look in her eyes, he can’t help stepping in to protect her.

Then he catches a glimpse of the strength beneath that calculating facade, strength forged by a life in which she had no choice but to grow up too soon.

He falls for her and offers himself up to be used, as long as she’ll be with him.

But it never occurs to him that Chu Rou has no intention of spending her life with him. When it’s all over, she asks to break up and is even willing to pay for having used him.

So the ever-arrogant Sheng Jinbai can only kneel before Chu Rou and beg, again and again:

“I’ll give you my money and power. Just love me, won’t you?”
