Immortal Ma Yuanjun

Ma Celestial Immortal is a female patron saint worshiped in Fujian and Zhejiang areas. Ma Yuanjun founded the sect, and his disciples Ma Qiniang, Ma Liuniang and Ma Wuniang continued the Taoist lineage. Four generations of masters and disciples practiced it to benefit the world. They cured diseases with their medical skills, transformed people with their good deeds, and established the world with their virtues. They left many legends among the people about helping people in need, rescuing people in distress, and protecting women and children. Its belief embodies the local lofty praise for women's wisdom, kindness and tenacity, and has become a symbol of faith with unique humanistic warmth in regional culture.
