A Night of Passion in the Capital

A free-spirited woman who chases freedom all her life × an old-fashioned man who learns to be flirtatious for love /Heir to a time-honored rice-paper factory × materials science professor [Older-man guiding type / reunited lovers / childhood sweethearts / both sexually inexperienced] Qi Xianzhi and Wen Cheng had been in a relationship for several years. He was an honest, self-disciplined man who followed propriety and was inarticulate when it came to love. Just as his career was steadily rising, Hong Kong City repeatedly extended tempting offers. To preserve his dignity, she quietly left, wishing only for his career to go smoothly. Two years after they separated, the Qi and Wen families discussed an arranged marriage. Qi Xianzhi used the opportunity to return to him. She had never expected the “old cadre” to develop abandonment trauma after being dumped. He devoted himself to studying the theories of winning someone over, while his refined and handsome face often held a lingering sensuality. To secure a publicly acknowledged status and support her career, Wen Cheng did everything he could, though no one knew how low he had willingly stooped. When he made a woman angry enough to slap him, he merely enjoyed it greedily. “You said you would hit me every day, so from now on, I suppose I will have to look forward to your daily reward.” Qi Xianzhi often cursed him as a scoundrel and ordered him not to read romance novels anymore, warning that they would corrupt him. Yet on New Year's Eve, she excitedly prepared to have him film a video for women. Wen Cheng pretended to cooperate. Wearing a white shirt, black trousers, and a dark red diagonally striped tie tied in a Windsor knot, he drew her into his arms by the floor-to-ceiling window and said they should first admire the moon shining over the silver mountains. Qi Xianzhi had long since forgotten her original purpose. Then the man suddenly released her hand and solemnly dropped to one knee. “Miss Qi, are you willing to grant me a complete life?” The camera happened to record the egret-feather crown ring sliding onto her ring finger. Only later did she learn that the man her family had intended her to marry was actually his younger brother. The fulfillment he sought was to scheme against everyone and everything, all for the sake of spending the rest of his life by her side.
