Zhou of Wu: I Really Need to Cling to Grandma’s Coattails

In the first month of the second year of Tianshou, more than three months had passed since Wu Zetian changed the Tang Dynasty into the Zhou. The Wu clan was riding high, while the imperial Li clan tread on thin ice.

After his soul transmigrated into Li Shouli, Prince of Yong and son of Li Xian, Crown Prince Zhanghuai, he opened his eyes to find himself caught in the act, and he was the man being caught.

Before he could figure out how to get out of this mess, that woman made her grand entrance. Faced with certain death, he could only steel himself and demonstrate his bone-setting massage technique.

“Grandmother, what do you think of my massage?”

Wu Zetian closed her eyes in contentment and patted his head. “Mm… That feels wonderful. How should I reward someone like you?”

Li Shouli lowered his head and said nothing, while screaming inwardly: Once I have command of the army, just you wait. We’ll have a Xuanwu Gate showdown of our own!

But aloud, he obediently replied, “Your grandson only wants to massage you every day and show his filial devotion.”

The struggle for the throne, the feud between the Li and Wu families, before he had built up his own power, none of it mattered as much as keeping his grandmother comfortable.

After all, in front of Wu Zhao, who loved arresting and executing people, getting on the right person’s good side was worth more than anything.
