Death Register

A Dayin woman's life depends on three books: birth is recorded in the genealogy or ancestral certificate, marriage is recorded in the marriage register, and death is recorded in the ancestral register. Whoever controls the roster controls whether she can be a person. Pei Jiuniang once took the initiative to fake her death in order to investigate the case, but before the underground palace was closed, she heard three documents being sealed: removal from the ancestral decree, remarriage from the marriage register, and death from the ancestral hall.
