Great Ming: Playing Zhongli, Driving Old Zhu Crazy

After transmigrating into the chaotic final years of the Yuan dynasty, Zhu Li became Zhu Yuanzhang’s second son and Zhu Biao’s twin brother. From the start, he was bound to the template of Zhongli, the Geo Archon. As warlords fought for supremacy, Old Zhu was battling Chen Youliang at the front for control of territory, while Zhu Li lounged around Yingtian Prefecture, walking his bird in its cage and sipping tea as he listened to storytellers. Whenever he bought the finest luxuries, he wouldn’t pay a single coin. “Send the bill to the Prince of Wu’s residence and make my dad pay.” Old Zhu stared at the mountain of bills and chased Zhu Li down three streets with a shoe in hand, furious. “I’m risking my life at the front, while this little brat slacks off in the rear? Send him to the front to get some experience!” Then, during the Battle of Lake Poyang, Chen Youliang’s six-hundred-thousand-strong navy surrounded Old Zhu. At the critical moment, the second son, who did nothing but laze around and sightsee, stepped forward. He pointed into the air, and the heavens split apart. “Demons and gods rise together in this age. Though I have no desire to contend for the throne, I know the suffering of the people. I wish only to cleanse the world and protect one corner of this mortal realm.” Star-rocks blotted out the sun and plunged into the heart of the lake, instantly erasing hundreds of thousands of enemy troops! Old Zhu was dumbstruck. “Biao, am I seeing things? Your brother’s a god?”
