The Phantom Train of Eternal Night

The Eternal Night Train A hundred years ago, a ghostly railway running through the divide between the worlds of yin and yang quietly appeared. The old steam locomotive, numbered K0714, was a train for the dead, carrying departed souls safely to the afterlife. It traveled between the human world and the underworld, with its conductor guarding the route and escorting countless souls burdened by unfinished business into reincarnation, maintaining the balance between the two realms. Then a calamity of black fog swept across heaven and earth. Torrential rain tore through the barriers between space and time, and countless violent, vengeful spirits invaded the train, bringing an endless tide of malice with them. The sudden disaster sent the train hurtling along an elevated track into an uncontrollable plunge. Every passenger and staff member aboard perished. Their anguished cries and boundless regrets were sealed inside the carriages. The conductor burned up his own divine soul and used what remained to lay down a seal, forcibly containing the rampaging black fog, but he could not eradicate it completely. From then on, the train vanished from the world's tracks, trapped in endless night and reliving the tragedy of that fateful night day after day. A century passed, and the train continued to wander the fog-shrouded tracks of the void, with neither beginning nor end. Countless souls of the dead remained aboard. Some drifted about in a daze; others, tainted by malice, became vicious, vengeful spirits that survived by devouring the life force of living beings. The trapped conductor's remnant soul lost all sense of self and became a puppet of obsession, endlessly repeating the motions of checking tickets and sending the train off. The soul-devouring black fog born from the disaster lurked deep in the rearmost carriage, gathering strength as it waited for a chance to break through the seal and return to the world. Any traveler who strays into this hidden realm is forcibly pulled aboard the train and caught in an endless cycle. Only by breaking through layers of obsession, resolving the dead's lingering grievances, and destroying the source of the black fog can the long-sunken ghost train return to peace.
