Duckweed and the Earth

Li Qinghe, her whole life is like a duckweed floating on the water, but she has always planted strong roots towards the earth. From the war-torn times to the years of scarcity of supplies, from the ups and downs of migration to the daily routine of daily necessities, she survived in hardships, supported her family in the wind and rain, and turned countless "getting through" days into a searing narrative about survival, memory and love. The son Tongzhou used his mother's narration as a guide to salvage the fragments buried by time: in the fireworks of the old days, the hottest vitality of ordinary people was hidden; in the gatherings and separations of the family, the struggle and perseverance of a generation were hidden. This is not a grand historical narrative, but the life history of an ordinary woman and the migration and inheritance of a family. The most ordinary life, as long as it is stared at and told with enough concentration and sincerity, can also reflect the light and dust of an entire history. When the roots of duckweed penetrate into the earth, and when the mother's voice turns into words, those forgotten stories will eventually become lights that illuminate future generations.
