Traces of Thoughts

This is a suspenseful science fiction novel set in 2137. In a future where thought flow technology makes human thoughts transparent, Ava, the only remaining "thought flow immune", serves as the final truth judge in the court. In a murder case with prima facie evidence, the defendant's thought records clearly showed the intention to kill, but Ava keenly discovered that these "thoughts" were like perfectly replicated mechanical pulses, lacking the messy texture of human emotions. However, her investigation uncovers a shocking conspiracy. In this article, we explore what it means to be our authentic self in a world of technological transparency, and how much freedom we are willing to pay for security and convenience.
