Yuze at the Abyss

Su Yu's mother was a favored Imperial Consort, but the emperor's affection was merely a pretext for coveting her family's power and fortune. Once he had drained every last bit of their value, he would depose and abandon her, leaving the entire Su family to become a sacrifice to imperial power. To protect her mother and save her family, Su Yu decided to take a dangerous gamble. She sought out Jiang Zeyuan, the Regent who held power over the whole court, and offered the empire as her wager, urging him to join her in plotting a great undertaking. After five years of careful planning, they advanced step by step. Together, they toppled the old dynasty and helped Su Yu ascend the throne. Now seated upon the throne with power in her hands, she could look back on the understanding and restraint they had shared while plotting rebellion side by side. With the realm in their grasp, the journey they had taken was already worth more than anything else.
