Chongwu's Sea Breeze: Hui Nu's Past

Su Jin, who left Shanghai's advertising industry, returned to her hometown of Chongwu Ancient City with her grandma's silver waist chain and blue cloth blouse. A casual short video sharing unexpectedly broke out of the circle, leading her to open the door of Xiu's aunt, an old silversmith who had lived in seclusion for half her life, and uncovered her youth and half-life regrets in the shipyard that had been buried for sixty years. After that, she followed the sea breeze of the ancient city and walked through the streets and alleys of the fishing villages in southern Fujian, looking for a group of Hui'an women who had unique skills. Through oral accounts of the past, old photos and handmade artifacts, she salvaged the gradually disappearing fishermen's folk customs. Along the way, the confused returnee transformed into a local recorder. She used new media as a bridge to revitalize intangible cultural heritage such as Hui women's clothing, ancient silversmithing, and headscarf weaving. Between the mountains and the sea, she found the direction of life to take root in her homeland and continue the inheritance of fireworks.
