Maritime Escort Duty: My Mercenaries Can Level Up

In the Gulf of Aden, piracy is an honest line of work. With the second-lowest GDP per capita in the world, you can make 79,000 a year as a pirate. The value for money is unbeatable: start early and enjoy life early, die early and be reborn early. Zhang Hai transmigrates into the hellish world of private maritime security contractors in 2008. Fortunately, he can use the dollars he earns to upgrade his team and boost their stats. Fitness, tactical awareness, marksmanship, tactical command, negotiation skills: all clearly priced, with no favoritism. Some people in the escort business rely on experience, others risk their lives and tough it out. Zhang Hai, on the other hand, feeds his whole team with dollars! In the world’s most dangerous pirate alley, Zhang Hai learns a lot. For example, how to tell two kinds of AK gunfire apart. “Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat” means hello. “Rat, tat, tat” means they want you dead. For example, fishing boats don’t carry fish. They carry RPGs. Today he kills a warlord’s son, tomorrow he steals an intelligence broker’s business, and the day after that he discovers that the waters off Somalia are muddied by European “fishing” magnates, Middle Eastern arms dealers, and a group of “international friends.” From the Gulf of Aden to the Gulf of Guinea, from the Strait of Malacca to the Caribbean, he takes on the world’s most dangerous pirate alleys, one by one. From driving off ship hijackers to monopolizing escort contracts on high-risk routes. “Need our services? We don’t take jobs involving cargo worth less than twenty million dollars. We don’t take tourist routes. We don’t take on poor pirate rabble who can’t even afford an RPG. We only run the most dangerous routes and fight the most profitable battles.” The conscience of the industry, quality guaranteed.
